New Horizons announced it has chosen its Norwalk facility for a new $4.6 million expansion project that will add over 5,200 square feet to its existing footprint and bring an estimated 18 new jobs to the Norwalk area which is due to significant growth with existing and new customers.
The investment in the building and new equipment allows New Horizons to remain a strong leader in an increasingly competitive industry, strengthening the company’s position in the North American market. The company currently employees over 400 team members at its three facilities, two of which are in Ohio.
This is the company’s fifth expansion in the last five years. “It is truly an honor and pleasure to work with New Horizons Baking Company. Leading the company in their new growth phase is Trina Bediako, recently selected as the President of New Horizons Acquisition Corporation. Ms. Bediako has been a top contributor to the company’s success for the last 16 years.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Connecticut on a full college scholarship, Trina began her career in the Telecommunications industry. She worked for 15 years with Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET), Lucent Technologies and Avaya, Inc. in marketing, sales, programming and training.
In 2002, Trina started her career with New Horizons Baking Company. She has held several leadership roles in the company during her tenure with NHBCO, ranging from Vice President of Human Resources to Corporate Vice President and early in 2017 was promoted to President of the New Horizons Baking Group. Trina has received manufacturing and business training at the American Institute of Baking (AIB), Kellogg School of Management, and Wharton School of Business.
